When We Get To Heaven.....

A friend of mine and I were talking about the all out assault on Christianity these days and how thankful we are that we are saved and know that when we die we will go to heaven to be with our Lord.  During our conversation she said “I’m not ready to die because heaven will probably be boring with nothing to do”.  I wonder how many Christians think of heaven this way.

There are many unanswered questions about this life and life in heaven that will remain unanswered until we meet our Lord.  When we get to heaven our eyes will be opened!  We will be able to see and understand the mysteries of our lives on earth.  God will reveal all He was doing in our lives; how He used our lives on earth to further His Kingdom. This is why I am looking forward to heaven.

I know that I will die at just the right moment, no sooner no later.  My life is in God’s hands so I should live this life in anticipation of heaven – we all should.  We should live our lives by faith knowing that we have a purpose and we will know and understand that purpose when we get to heaven.  I think there will be a few light bulb moments.  Don’t you?

When we see Jesus face to face all things will be made clear.  We will have no more questions or doubts.  Just complete understanding of His infinite goodness and wisdom. I think the best part will be when we are transformed from faith to sight.  It is like that song “I can only imagine”.  I am overwhelmed with just the thought of seeing my Jesus face to face.  I can only imagine.

Although the bible is not clear about how we will live when we get to heaven, it does tell us that “Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as He is.  1 John 3:2

SCRIPTURES

But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.  Philippians 3:20-21

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.  John 5:24

For I consider the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us.  Romans 8:18

In Him and through faith in Him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.  Ephesians 3:12
