Hell Is Real

I don’t want y’all to think that I’ve lost my mind but I have to write this week’s E-Votional on the reality of hell.  I believe that there is someone reading this that either believes that hell isn’t real or that it’s not as bad as it is made out to be.  God wants you to know that hell is real and it is really as bad as the bible describes.  He doesn’t want you to end up there separated from Him forever.  The one thing that most non believers and some Christians fail to realize is this: God is and always has been a righteous God.  He is loving, merciful and long suffering but He does judge righteously.  For the past two days it has been on my heart to write about this.  I am sure it’s the Holy Spirit and I pray that these words will open someone’s eyes and they will be saved from eternity in what the bible describes as a fiery lake of burning sulphur.

Just as being a good person won’t save us from eternity in flames and torment neither will believing hell doesn’t exist.   Believing that hell isn’t real doesn’t change the fact that it is.  Heaven and hell are as real as the planet we live on.   Some people think that a loving God wouldn’t send “good” people to hell but the bible is clear that it is only because of our faith in Christ that we will be saved from eternal damnation.  There is no other way to heaven.  It is through Christ alone.

Heaven and hell are real.  Heaven is paradise where tears fall no more.  Where we are all made whole and we walk on streets of gold with God forever.  Hell is a lonely place full of gloom and torment where one is separated from everyone and everything for eternity.  The choice is ours to make and from where I’m standing the choice is clear!  “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord”.  Joshua 24:15

Scripture
"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it”.  Matthew 7:13

So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just, and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth."  Matthew 13:49-50

The 12 gates are 12 pearls; each individual gate was made of a single pearl. The broad street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.  Revelation 21:21

Fear Of The "What If's"

Fear is of the enemy and I know why.  Fear can make us question our faith in God and His ability to move in our lives.  When we take our eyes off of the Lord the devil is able creep in and fill us with fear of the unknown and the “what if’s” can take over filling our hearts with anxiety over events that are absolutely out of our control.

It’s the fear of the “what if’s” that fill our mind and takes our eyes off of God.  Its times like this that we need to remember that God is in control…not me and not you and certainly not the devil!  We have to put our trust in Him and have faith that He will be true to His word and give us the strength to get through whatever this world throws at us.  Although I believe this with all of my heart I have to be honest, it is sometimes easier said than done.

Sometimes I feel the weight of the world upon my shoulders and every little decision seems so big and potentially life altering? Since the accident in 2007 I fear how my decisions may affect the lives of the people around me in ways that I never thought of before.  For instance; I asked my son to come in from Tyler to have dinner with us but after thinking about it and realizing he would be on the road after dark I decided that it would be better if he didn’t come at all.  It’s not that he’s an unsafe driver, I just didn’t want to take the chance of him having an accident on the way back home and it be my fault.  Another example is how badly I want my grandchildren to come visit but when I think about them being on the road and “what if the van breaks down” or “what if they have an accident”?  It would be my fault and I just couldn’t live with that either.

I know my fears are irrational and of the devil.  If something were to happen it would be because God allowed it to happen not because of anything I did or didn’t do.  Fearing something will happen won’t make it happen.  There is nothing you or I can say or do to change what God has pre-ordained and it is very high minded of us if we think we can.  Let us keep our eyes on the One who cares for us, the lover of our soul, our King and Lord of Lords.  Only in Him can we truly live a fearless life.

Scripture

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, ""Abba,"Father."  Romans 8:15

He said: "O LORD, God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth--you who keep your covenant of love with your servants who continue wholeheartedly in your way.  2 Chronicles 7:14

The four horsemen of the Apocalypse

Today I watched a video that was taken on 2-3-11.  The talking heads were chatting about what was going on around them in Egypt when unbeknownst to them they caught on tape a pale horseman that rode off into the sky.  I’ve watched it over and over and over.  Could it be that God is warning us what was prophesied so many years ago is upon us now???  Tell me what you think you see.  May God bless you and keep you safe in His loving care until the return or our Lord Jesus!!

Revelation 6:1-8
Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, "Come and see.  "And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.  When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, "Come and see.  "Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword.  When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come and see." So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.  And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.  "When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, "Come and see.  "So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth.

The legacy of a godly man

Today marks the 100th birthday of our 40th President of The United States, Ronald Reagan.  We honor his memory with a tribute of his life and his legacy as one of our most honorable and distinguished Presidents ever.  He lived his life according to the law of God and he proudly and opening ruled our Nation the same way. It was the Spirit of God living inside him that made him the man and the President that we so greatly admire.  When faith in God rules a man’s heart only good will come of it and his life is proof of that.

As a Nation we are searching for another man of God to govern in the same godly manner.  We are looking for “the next President Reagan.”  A man who loves God and believes that limited government governs best.  We are seeking a man who desires to do the will of God not the will of congress.  Our hearts burn for God to bless us with such a man before it’s too late.

2 Chronicles 7:14 reads  “if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  We have allowed the government to write laws and legislate from a secular view for too long.  We are a Nation of Christians and it’s time we showed it by voting out the members of congress who don’t share our faith or our values.  We should elect a President that seeks the council of the Almighty not the approval of the world.

I love this country and I don’t want it to disappear right before our very eyes because we didn’t stand up for our faith, our founding fathers or the sacrifices made by so many brave men and woman that fought and continue to fight to keep this Country safe and free.  We have the greatest privilege in the world to live in the greatest Nation in the world.  We also have the privilege and the obligation to fight to preserve our rights and freedoms only experienced by those of us who are fortunate enough to live here.
Please pray for the Christians of The United States to be filled with discernment when they cast their vote for a candidate whether it is in local, state or the federal government.  We need to unite and make our collective voices heard in Washington.  THIS IS A CHRISTIAN NATION AND WE’RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE!

GOD HAS ALWAYS BLESSED AMERICA.  IT’S TIME WE THANKED HIM!
