Fathers Day!!!

Happy Father’s Day! 

My husband received a card that read “Do you know why Father’s Day is in June?”  Inside it read “because about a month after Mother’s Day someone said “hey wait a minute”.  That was very cute and it made him smile. 

It is nice to have a special day set aside to let our mothers and fathers know what they mean to us.  I know I don’t always show how much I love them so it gives me an opportunity to express my deep gratitude for their love and sacrifices through the years for me. 

Sacrifices are part of being a parent but the greatest sacrifice of all was when our Heavenly Father allowed His only Son, His perfect, sinless Son to be hung on a cross for us.  Although we will never know the depth of His  pain because of His ultimate sacrifice we do know the depth of His love. 

I hope that as you celebrate your father this year that you will remember our Heavenly Father, too.  Remember to thank Him for His gift of life through the death and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ.

Power of Prayer

Since when do we need rehab for being a narcissistic, power hungry pervert?  And when did Americans begin to accept this kind of behavior from the people who hold the highest offices in the land?  Maybe it was the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky scandal that broke the ice, so to speak.  

As hard as it is for me believe current polls show that 56% of Representative Weiner’s constituents want him to stay in office!!!  And then you have people like Janeane Garofalo who say that she hopes he (Weiner) will become NYC’s mayor some day!  This is the same person that said “white people who don’t like Obama are straight up bigots”.  She is probably in the same group of liberals that are saying that our Governor (Rick Perry) is showing favoritism toward Christianity and violating the separation of church and state because he called for a day of prayer.  We are becoming a nation of tolerance towards every group, nationality, race and religion EXCEPT FOR CHRISTIANITY. 

Our Declaration of Independence and the laws of the land are based on laws and precepts in the Holy Bible!  So why is it unacceptable for a Christian Governor to call for a day of prayer for our Nation but acceptable for a congressman from NYC to go into rehab for something that can be “cured” with prayer?  (Seems kind of backwards to me)

Prayer can only be a good thing so why are the liberals so opposed to it?  My guess is they know the power of prayer and they are afraid that God in His great mercy will hear us and turn this Nation back to HIM!! 

The liberal left describe Evangelical Christians as un-enlightened, backward thinking, gun clinging idiots who don’t know any better.  Really????  I for one will be praying for those enlightened, forward thinking, unarmed geniuses! 

God help us all if this Nation doesn’t start moving in the “right” direction!!

Life Lite

Dr. Death (Jack Kervorkian) died yesterday, June 4, 2011.  The 83 year old atheist believed that when you die you just rot in the ground.  He said there is nothing beyond this life.  This must be the reason why he would help another person commit suicide without the slightest hint of remorse or regret.  He felt it was his duty to “help” those with terminal illnesses commit suicide.  He didn’t see anything wrong with this practice of murder by suicide.  Eventually the courts did and sentenced him to 25 years in prison.  It is heartbreaking to think about where this man is spending eternity because his chance of redemption died with him.  He might not have believed in God while he was alive but you can be certain he believes in HIM now. 

Jack Kervorkian’s life is a perfect example of life without hope.  It is so sad to know that there are millions more just like him; lost souls who belong to cults or false religions who share the same hopeless existence.  Life without hope is life lite.  Having hope in the Eternal God and faith that when we die we will live with him in heaven forever and ever makes this life worth living.  I can’t imagine living my life any other way than with Jesus as my Savior and eternal King.
