Is God Silent?

Does God hear our prayers?  Where is God when we need Him most?  When daily struggles weigh you down do you wonder why God is silent?   The bible tells us that God is never far from the brokenhearted.  When God is all you have is when you realize that God is all you need.
I can remember during the months after Caleb’s death and then for months after the accident searching for answers from God as to why He allowed these things to happen.  What was the purpose in the death of an innocent baby?  What was the purpose of my four year old grandson being paralyzed from the neck down?  Why did He allow these terrible things to happen to our family?
I still don’t have the answers but it doesn’t matter.  I know that God’s plan is better than any plan that I could possibly imagine and I have to have faith that no matter what happens in this life it will bring glory to God.  I mourned Caleb and I still miss him dearly.  I miss the boy Jason used to be (before the accident) but I adore the boy he has become.  Things change and life goes on.  The only thing that doesn’t change is the mercy and grace of our Lord.  Even when He seems silent and so far away, He’s not.  You can be assured that He is with you.  Close your eyes, be still and you can almost feel His breath on you.
