Spiritual Warfare

As a Christian I believe that good and evil exist in this world, God and Satan, heaven and hell. There is an unseen battle going on for the souls of the human race that we need to understand. Whether we choose to believe in the existence of this spiritual warfare or not doesn’t change the fact that it exists. We cannot be like the two year old child who believes no one can see her because her eyes are closed.

The Christian faith is based on the unseen. We have never seen God yet we have faith that He exists. We didn’t see Jesus crucified or watch as God raised Him from the dead but we believe it happened just the way the bible says it did.

There are unseen forces, good and evil, angelic and demonic, that are actively working against us in the physical realm. Satan puts road blocks in our path. He creates strife in our homes, he causes illness and death, etc. Job is a perfect example of this. He was a godly man so Satan went after his family, his wealth and his health; He wanted his soul. If this can happen to Job, who was a godly man, it most certainly can happen to you and me.

We fight the worldly battle each day – this one we can see. We also fight the spiritual battle – this one we can’t see. Protect yourself by growing strong in the word. The spiritual battle can only be won spiritually. Fill your heart, your mind and your spirit with the word of God to stave off those fiery darts from Satan. The war has already been won but the battle rages on.

SCRIPTURES

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Ephesians 6:12

By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible. Hebrews 11:3

He said, "Daniel, you who are highly esteemed, consider carefully the words I am about to speak to you, and stand up, for I have now been sent to you." And when he said this to me, I stood up trembling. Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to them. But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia. Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come." Daniel 10:11-14
