During our journey through pain and suffering, we reach a point where we no longer have the strength, the desire or even the words to pray, but we still have a desire to connect with God. We seek the answers to our prayers and our questions. We long for Him to touch our hearts and our lives and give us the comfort that we just can’t seem to find. We need to know that He is there and hasn’t left us alone to handle the unbelievably painful events we are struggling through.
Sometimes we find it difficult to talk to God because we really don’t know what else to say; we’ve said it all. We’ve prayed our hearts out and yet it seems that God hasn’t been listening. The Bible says He will NEVER leave us or forsake us, so why haven’t we received the answers to our prayers? Was God really there? Does He really care about the pain and suffering in our lives or are we on this journey all alone?
Prayer can become hard for every believer; you are not alone. It can be so discouraging when God is quiet and we feel like He isn’t listening. When prayer is the most difficult is when we need to be on our knees and praying the most. Pray until you feel like praying. We need that connection to God and we can only get it through prayer.
Everyone on earth has pain and suffering. No, not one of us is unique in that manner. It is how we chose to deal with the painful and sometimes tragic events in our life that makes the difference. We must give God the opportunity to do what He says He will do. He is in control and will provide for our every care. We must put our faith in His Word if we want to do more than just survive.
I pray that my spiritual journey will bring me to the place where I will be the most effective for the Kingdom. The pain that I have in my heart and the tragedies in my life will end but His love will never end. I choose to put my faith and trust in God and in His Word. This will sustain me for the rest of my days on earth and prepare me for the life everlasting with Him!
Before you pick up your bible to read say a prayer that goes something like this
Dear Heavenly Father,
I have so much pain and I need your grace and strength to get me through it. Please wrap your loving arms around me in a very real way so that I feel the comfort and peace of your amazing love. Bring your words alive to me as I read them and bless me with discernment and understanding. Allow the Holy Spirit to move in and around me so that my life is pleasing to you.
In Jesus name, Amen.

Glory to God whose power, working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine; Glory to Him from generation to generation in the church, and in Christ Jesus for ever and ever. Amen Ephesians 3:20-21
